  •  Ron Kaminski is the lynchpin (13+ / 0-)
LIUNA Local 1140 and TransCanada partner to establish Nebraskans for Jobs and Energy Independence (NJEI) to advocate for the Keystone XL pipeline. Local 1140 Business Manager, Ron Kaminski, serves as President and member of the three-member board of directors. NJEI’s line has been: construction of KXL would create tens of thousands of jobs, despite a number of reputable studies proving this untrue.
So the Business Manager of Local 1140 is also President and Board Member of an organization (NJEI) that is an alliance of ALEC, Koch Industries, TransCanada, Americans For Prosperity and the American Petroleum Institute?

That just screams CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
I know that, among other things, the BM is tasked to find work for the members and negotiate with the corporations, but this smells like maybe Kaminski isn't working for the members anymore.

Everybody got to elevate from the norm....

Bread and circuses for the public.... Has worked perfectly for 2000 years to keep the great numbers of those with little power, ignoring those tiny few that have almost all of it.

He deleted that comment off his page.  I asked him to come here and discuss it.

      •  Does anyone know if the members are aware? (0+ / 0-)

If they aren't, they need to be. Probably be better to talk to them face to face though, rather than filter the message  through the Local that he's an official of....
