  •  I am a preschool teacher (9+ / 0-)

and, I must confess, have always been 'allergic' to science.

High school- I took the required courses.  No more.  And I barely made it.

In college, the same thing.  Science not only did not thrill me, the studies caused me great pain.

But in my classroom- science rules!

My students' curiosity knows no bounds- and with that great invention, the computer- I now can enhance that curiosity.  The kids get to choose a question of the day to ask the computer, and the things these kids want to know about amazes me.

This week my theme is the weather, and I can't wait to take it beyond clouds and sun.  I'm expecting a lot of questions about wind (someone asked that already and I know he wants more).  I'll show them weather maps and forecasts, we'll chart our weather and compare it to other parts of the world.

And we'll make lion and lamb masks.  Kites and wind socks.

And read, It Looked Like Spilt Milk

Science for my preschoolers is fun!

Growing old is inevitable...Growing up is purely optional
