    Hegel's dialiectic seems so simple, until you try to explain it to yourself or anyone else!  The man was a powerhouse, though, and paved the way for the likes of Moore, Russell, Kierkegaard, and even the Marxist.

    Except for Nietzsche, I have always found the German philosophers difficult to comprehend. I have always believed that German--like Greek--is a language well suited for philosophical discussion. And since I can read and understand only a little of each, I can always blame my confusion on poor translations!

    I am especially entertained by your recounting of your Britannica-approach to test taking: wonderful.
