  •  I'm still trying to wrap my head (13+ / 0-)

around Boehner's statement:  The President needs to pass a bill.

I mean, come ON.  Even my elementary school age grandson knows the fucking President does not write or pass bills.

How stupid is the public that Boehner can say this and not be called on it at every turn?

David Koch is Longshanks, and Occupy is the real Braveheart.

    •  Almost as stupid as his other statement (12+ / 0-)

.... that the House has passed two bills already.  Of course, they were in the last Congress and are dead bills.  One was the Ryan budget, as if he wanted to bring that up again.  The other was Boehner's Plan B that didn't even pass.

So even for a delusional drunken liar, Boehner's position is unusually dishonest.  If those are the best lies he's got, he's even more desperate than I thought.

      •  And the flip side, (7+ / 0-)

that the Senate has "DONE NOTHING".
except that the Senate Dems have passed a budget, failed to pass a couple more (due to Republican Obstruction) and the one they passed has been declared "DOA" by Boner and his gang.
The problem is that the Media, including the so-called Liberal Media like NPR, are perpetuating this meme by careful wording, like: "Congress has failed to pass..." "The Senate has failed to act..." Making it sound like it's both parties that are responsible.
As a result, it's not a sure thing that the pain that's coming will be assigned to the proper sources.

If I ran this circus, things would be DIFFERENT!

    •  Please. You know how many people in this (13+ / 0-)

country have no idea at all how the government works?

Go on Facebook sometime. I live in Texas and have lots of friends--horses being the common bond--who will post things like "Why doesn't Obama just do this? Why doesn't he do that? He's the one whose responsible for this mess. He's the one who should have changed this!"  Hell, I've seen people who call themselves liberals who say the same thing!

We don't teach civics in our schools anymore. Sesame Street doesn't play that "I am a bill" cartoon anymore, or if they do, no one but five year olds watch it. So millions of people, right AND left, think that the president just says "Make it so" and it happens.

You should see the comments on the budget alone. They have no idea that the president can propose budgets, but it's Congress that has to pass the bill that actually provides the funds. They have no clue as to why, when the majority of people in the Senate are Dems, Obama and the Dems can't do anything they want. "Hey, you people are in complete control of the government, so any problem is the fault of liberals!" They don't know what a filibuster is. They have no idea what kind of power a Speaker of the House has, or the fact that most work is done in committees and that committees can be the graveyard of good ideas.

      They really have no clue.

Freedom has two enemies: Those who want to control everyone around them...and those who feel no need to control themselves.
