For reference, I like teasing Bronies, mostly about the fact that I don't see anything in MLP:FIM for adults.

There are a lot of kids' shows that are designed to have an element adults can enjoy in them, the best recent examples being Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Legend of Korra. Both of these have in depth, engaging, storylines and deal with themes that seem to target an adult audience, as well as a child audience. Both can really connect with the stories and themes. They have some of the best character development I've ever seen in any show, much less a cartoon.

MLP doesn't have much for adults. The characters are static, and the show's design is a dated monster-of-the-week style story. The animation is fantastic, and so is the voice acting, but there's no meat to sink your teeth into.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying a little bubblegum if bubblegum is your thing, but with my limited time to watch things, I'd rather spend it watching shows that have something for me to enjoy in them.

Glad you gave the show a chance & actually like something about it; a lot of people crap on MLP without ever watching it.

No one's required to like - or watch - something they don't care for. Sounds like you prefer shows a little more dramatic/plot driven. Let me ask - what do you think of Adventure Time?

I've seen more fan created versions of MLP:FIM than the actual series.  Some of this stuff is brilliant... and I was one of those people who rolled my eyes when I heard about a revamped MLP.

The fan creations have me wanting to see more of the series now.
