    Medicaid might have a different name in you State, like Badgercare or Medical, but it's for the extremely poor.

    Now, one of the very best things about the deeply flawed ACA was that it expanded access to Medicaid a little.  Instead of having to be below the poverty line, you can now make (I believe) about 140% of poverty.

    Also, single non-disabled people can now qualify.  They didn't used to qualify, no matter how poor or sick they were.

    Previously, under traditional Medicaid, this would mean all those people got insurance without co-pays.

    I've spent years serving people this poor.  They skip meals to make a 10 dollar co-pay.  That may not sound like a lot of money to you or I, but it's a hell of a lot to the destitute.
