A few years ago a Supreme Court Justice -- Scalia, if I remember correctly -- had a speech at some university recorded by a reporter.  His aide and the security people confiscated the recorder.  (As I remember the aide was a bit behind the times on technology and couldn't understand that it was a solid state recorder and didn't have actual tape in it.)  Scalia was indignant.

When the incident gathered some publicity, Don Antonin backed down a little and conceded that a reporter had a right to use a recording of his public speech as a form of notes -- but he still seemed to assert some sort of copyright ownership of his words and/or his voice.

I'm pleased that somebody got this recording onto the internet.  There may be hell to pay for doing it.

We're all pretty strange one way or another; some of us just hide it better. "Normal" is a dryer setting.
