The "real news" I saw last year was on the BBC, and on French television.  No silliness there.  I am constantly amazed at the length and the frequency of commercials on US Cable News Channels.  That is because I was around at the birth of the US Cable industry - when CNN was 24/7 News, original stories (Unless I dreamed all of that) I don't remember so many commercials.  Now, corporate greed has gotten so out of hand there are informercials spaced throughout every hour of every MSNBC & CNN Show.  Additionally, much of the time is spent on promoting their own stable of newsreaders (Alec Witte really bugs me for some reason - self promoting & empty - in my view).  It is sad and nearly unbearable to be bombarded mostly with commercials to get a little news &  repeated stories and silliness.

Why are so many in broadcasting so fucking silly?

we paid NOT to have to watch commercials.  when cablevision started slipping them in the broadcasts, people were totally p*ssed.  one reason i don't subscribe to either cable or satellite is i flatly refuse to pay to watch commercials!

and, the new "gimmick" of the half hour long "paid commercial" program seems to be present more than actual content.  ugh!  so, my pony benefits... and i do, too!

EdriesShop Is it kind? is it true? is it necessary?
