    in the amendment how the members would be selected, by states, the (proportional) numbers, and that the elections be publicly funded? As far as representation to give the lower population states some balance, there could be another group that is nationally selected.

    It could theoretically cut the number of oligarchs that actually make it to the convention enough they would not have a majority (or even near it).

    I really appreciate this diary. The issue has been on my mind since high school. I've been challenged on the dangers and am not convinced that we have a worse situation than existed in 1787. At this point I really cannot see how the possible oligarch problems openly in the convention, could be more dangerous than the ones we have in the shadows now.

    Since we brought this idea into the world, hundreds of countries have followed and surpassed us. With the historical and currently working examples, advanced study on the concept, and incredible technology, it should be quite achievable.
