    Your right to vote is more fundamental than a constitutional right. Your right to vote comes from the fact that the people are sovereign. You have a right, and a responsibility, to vote. That right is inherent in being a citizen.

    As a part of "we, the people", you have a right to vote regardless of whether the government recognizes it or not. A provision in the Constitution, like the provision of other rights there, only formally recognizes the right you have as a person.
