    don't know anglo saxon, but read chaucer in the original middle english in college

    when i read in dbug's comment how important it was to the warrior to stick with your friends, "hold" works even now

      I loved Shakespeare and the other middle English writers in HS.  After awhile, I didn't have to read the footnotes to understand what they were saying.  Now, I would have to start over, probably with Cliff notes.  Use it or lose it, I guess.
