  •  huge milk drinker here (9+ / 0-)

Am a Norwegian blessed with the gene that makes digesting dairy products a simple thing.

Have loved dairy all my life and as a kid drank a gallon of milk every two days, at least. For my health I have since cut way, way back.

About a year ago my wife and I joined a milk CSA here in Detroit and once a week we get a gallon of raw milk which suffices for about half a week's consumption.

    Thought I knew milk.

Raw milk processed under suitable conditions - this is critical and I know it is not always processed under suitable conditions - by a family we know and trust is at least 500% better than any other milk I have ever consumed. The difference is incredible, and I say this as one who has always had milk as their favorite beverage. I have also cut back even further in my milk intake since we have moved to getting the raw milk.

There is milk and then there is that milk-like product that has been stripped of flavor that most Americans drink. That is good stuff, too, but nowhere near the same.
