  •  OWS doesn't do politics... (4+ / 0-)

    It does democracy.

And Scott didn't disrupt any deliberations.

It just seems arbitrarily unfair and presumptuous that the Capitol Police somehow determined that Scott wasn't just quietly expressing a wish or a notion. He was denoting a movement too.

There's something very wrong with that, in my estimation.

      •  Because the Supreme Court that has (5+ / 0-)

handed down a long and glorious string of decisions against individuals and for concentrated power is the altar upon which we should continue to rest our future?

When 1% take 121% of the gains from "recovery", people actually recovering from lost employment are trading down on wages and benefits. Current strategies by moderates don't even consider winning the Class War.

By not playing a constructive, effective role in bringing about change in the Class and Climate Wars -- by protecting the status quo through "serious" incrementalism -- moderates effectively collude with plutocrats and Republicans in suppressing resistance in those Wars. Without a formal mechanism for effective change, what do you think is going to happen? To the underclass? To the Climate? Think. Moderates are engaged in their own form of Denial: that incrementalism is all that is possible or necessary, that the planet and the people will wait.

Voting rights are a racial entitlement that needs to be ended. Those uppity negroes need to remember their place is at the back of the bus.
