thanks for giving me the opportunity to do so on DailyKos.

I always wonder how creationists can believe in a god that would create such a shallow, simplistic, uninspiring world.

      If I start I won't stop.

      (turning purple.)

When 1% take 121% of the gains from "recovery", people actually recovering from lost employment are trading down on wages and benefits. Current strategies by moderates don't even consider winning the Class War.

They have "created" a sky god that meshes with their personal and emotional states.

Then they "worship" that sky god, which allows them to maintain their own personal and emotional states without any conflict.

And if any new issues came up, they can tweak that "sky god" to adjust to the new conditions.

Such a "sky god" would be pretty good to have, no?

Only thing is that this "sky god" is self-contradictory, because in the OT, it clearly states a prohibition of graven images in TWO places, Exodus and Deuteronomy: "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God..."

When thumpers or fundies define their "sky god" in specifics, they go against this particular prohibition, otherwise called "idolatry". They may think that they have defined "God", but in the way they consistently use "God" to approve of or disapprove of certain things (Westboro Baptist Church) they print words that describe their invention (they carve the letters in other words) and commit idolatry.

Now, I don't really care whether they worship Scooby Doo or not, but a "sky god" that is as shallow as the least educated and compassionate fundie could never be Creator of the Universes (Multiverse), don't you all think?

Personally, with a reputation for having been "defined" by humans from the beginning of our existance, "God" has not emerged from "sky god" status and is officially rated as "Out of Order".

Would the real "God" (if exist) please stand up?
      ....

      I thought so.

Oh well. They do it because it's easy and it gives them power and money.

      Ugh. --UB.
