a natural thing.  It might have been 2 or 3 kisses, or 10 or 12, or 462.  A kiss is a kiss is a kiss.

How many smooches is much less the issue than whose lips were doing the smooching.  The guards freaked because they were same-sex kisses, not because there were 25 or 30.

A Code of Conduct was cited as grounds to remove patrons from the mall.  Nothing in the Code prohibits kissing.

    •  i'm sure straight couples get asked to leave too (0+ / 0-)

if they make out extensively in public places... in movies and tv shows you see straight teenage couples make out in their own cars and cops start knocking on the windows... is that just a hollywood thing?

now if it was just a few innocent kisses, then obviously it's the guard who has the problem. but if the guard's side of the story is true, then it's not unreasoable for him to ask the couple to stop making out or to take it elsewhere. just my opinion.

...where the local news did undercover investigating and saw plenty of straight PDA at that mall that received no security attention?

If you're so sure that straight couples get asked to leave too, then you'll have no problem producing a few of them to prove it, eh?

straight couples exchanging smooches were not approached by security or told to stop smooching.  They continued to smooch unfettered.

The diarist points this out, by way of suggesting that the guard's problem was an anti-gay bias as opposed to an objection to public displays of affection by any and all.

Again, a "Code of Conduct" was cited as grounds for removal from the mall grounds, yet kissing is not indicated in the Code.

Sure sounds like anti-gay bias to me.

Homosexuality is found in over 450 species. Homophobia is found in only one. Which one seems unnatural now?
