    Thanks for your kind thoughts.

It is a bit soon for us to consider adopting another cat. We still have Felix's brother (same litter), who is healthy as a horse. He was very agitated when Felix was rushed to the hospital and (in his eyes) disappeared for two days. I think Felix's being stricken so suddenly and dramatically (and our panicked response) might have caused it; he was unusually clingy, and his meowing had a frightened edge to it.

Since Felix's passing he has been quieter and a bit more normal; in fact he's been playing and doing some of the entertaining kitty things Felix was more wont to do around us. We aren't sure how this kitty will respond to a new cat, especially one that hasn't been with him since birth.

I'd love a house full of cats and dogs, but that probably won't happen until my husband and I are retired and fully committed to the life of being "those cat and/or dog people down the street". But who knows? They do give so much love to their humans...!

-8.75,-8.00. 1,138 rights and responsibilities of civil marriage are denied married same-sex couples, and I demand that we get them. RIGHT. NOW.
