that isn't aware of the fact that we need industry back in the US. Of course, they blame different things, but a visible return of industry is almost universally considered a good thing.

    •  Perhaps, but you say "industrial policy," (5+ / 0-)

and the anti-communists come screaming out of the woodwork.

For some reason, people on the right AND left equate industrial policy with "central planning," and that means OMG COMMIES!!1! Pretty soon that leads to "government picking winners and losers" and job tracks (professional vs. trades) that one can't get out of. And blah, blah, socialism.

      Whatever.

Why can't we, as a country, decide where we want to be in five, 10, 20 years, and work towards that goal instead of floundering around until the whole country fails?

might agree and be aware of this basic economic need but neither D or R pols have any intention of doing anything that would cause a profit loss to the too big to fails. The ones who have been nothing but a fail to everyone but the top.  Our economy is run for and by Clinton's 'inevitable' NWO and Axelrod's 'world as we find it'.

Workers are just a profit loss and disaster capitalists make their obscene profits from the disasters they create be they economic or destroying the planet. At least Clinton felt our pain this lot just threatens you with drones and tells you to eat your peas or cat food if you can't afford the peas. Corporations need a floating labor pool of slave labor and a docile austerized public that is too fearful to recognize that people do have power.

Who wants to be detained indefinitely as an enemy of the state or lose their homes or be droned when they resist? Critical mass and non violent revolution does take them down but people have to have had enough. Will these fuckers go to far? They always do and people throughout history stop them one way or another. For now misplaced fear rules the day. That and a hefty dose of denial about what's going down because America is the home of the free and the land of the brave.
