  •  And here I thought (11+ / 0-)

that the only benefit they promoted was 'compassion'.  Notice that their ads seldom tout their success rate or what types of cancers they actually treat.  I've always wondered why.

It just always seemed like they charged a bundle for 'compassion', which my father got in spades from the nurses and doctors at his not for profit hospital.  CTCA just screams 'scam' to me.

    •  Yes my mother especially got tons of compassion (4+ / 0-)

from her oncologist, family doctor, surgeon and all the nursing staff too. In fact, Mom thought her oncologist was almost too nice as he would ask her for a hug and she would say...

Don't take this the wrong way. I think you are an excellent, caring, compassioate doctor but I do not hug doctors, I prefer to keep it professional.
With her friends, family, and those she helped in her life as she spent most of her life helping the poor ...she was all hugs..but she was a big believer in not hugging teachers, doctors, accountants, lawyers and people and bosses and so on..the professional ethics thing.

So we got tons of compassion with both of my parents but few successful treatments and well, nothing that worked long term but they were very kind and helpful .
