    Love mystery books and adore dogs.

    Need warnings though of whether the dog ends up harmed, still bawling about Turner and Hooch.

    Why?, why did they have to do that (kill off Hooch)?, I just hate it when they do that.

      It would really spoil the suspense, drama and your emotional involvement in the story if I told you that.

      But at two different points I said to myself, "If she (the dog) dies I'm never buying one of his goddamn books again!"

      This isn't a simple "dog as detective" book (not to put them down; this is simply on a different emotional level). For example, both the dog and the cop have PTSD, both from watching their partners (human) die.
