  •  Yes, I am male, but your point (0+ / 0-)

is refuted by the fact that I think Kaili is far more talented than I when it comes to the written word.  It has nothing to do with her gender.

And when it comes right down to it what I'm trying to say is that Kaili is far more talented to waste her talent on snark and unserious writings.

Or is it your position that irrelevance and hyperbole is all she is capable of?

And for those commenters above that want to justify Kaili's diary as a one-off, seriously?  Have you not read Kaili's work?  She has a way with words.  And, yes, she can be more serious as her recent diary about the passing of her ex suggests.

To me, that was her best work to date because it was real instead of the rest of her writings.  In short, I think she is talented but I personally am into more substance than style.  But others have different preferences and I can understand those that prefer style to be drawn to her writings.

So if you want to call me a troll, fine.  I'll admit I'm not a fan of Kaili's style.  But I do recognize her talent and would like her to branch out to a more substantive type writing instead of merely hyperbolic, sensationalist writings.  But perhaps this community would prefer her to keep writing in the same style as she currently writes in.

      •  Yeah, writing 3 hours after I normally go to bed (0+ / 0-)

and after a rum and coke doesn't produce my best work.

I probably shouldn't have written the comment or if I was going to write it I should have sent it directly to Kaili and not posted it in an open forum.

I know many think she is talented, and I'm among those people, but perhaps I'm just alone in my opinion that she could  use her talents in a different style that could shed more light than heat.

        •  There's a balance to FP posts, with many (0+ / 0-)

voices. Kalli is sometimes a great voice for the absurd, I've never thought her unsubstantive or frivolous- the absurdity has a dangerous edge we need to attend to.

I got the point you were making, it just reminded me of ever so many things written by men about women from a slightly superior stance. I don't react well to them.   I wanted you to know that the points get lost in the tone, which doesn't serve you.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
