Over my lifetime - sixty plus years - police behaviors have become brutal and out of control.  Sometimes I cannot believe the level of violence and brutality in a videotaped arrest or car stop. We in the US are on a tragic and dangerous course with ever escalating police brutality in many jurisdictions.

is an alarming development.  I agree that much of this started back when demonstrators were killed at Kent State and at the Democratic Convention in Chicago in 1968, among other places.  To be honest, police were brutal back when the civil rights demonstrations were first happening in the US.

Brutality is anathema to me.  Why does LE not use other methods to stop/disarm capture suspects (shoot in the leg instead of the heart/torso?

Violence and brutality from the police force is a very dangerous slippery slope.  I have seen major degeneration in LE's effectiveness in this regard in the US during my lifetime.
