  •  Yes, Joe is an asshole to the nth degree, but (0+ / 0-)

he lost because the district was changed to a Democratic Party candidate advantage (55-45).  As for his suffering wife, you might find out that she hasn't missed any real money, because she is well compensated for the legal work that she does.  If we are to pound on our chests, collectively, let's do it for the correct reasons.  He is fun to make fun of, but this pathetic fool takes more from DKOS than DKOS gets from him.

There is no hell on earth appropriate enough for those who would promote the killing of another person, in the name of a god.

Joe won the seat  because of a really weak Dem incumbent (Melisa Bean) and a Green Party caniadate who siphoned off a couple of thousand vote.

Joe Walsh was elected by about 1000 votes.

      •  I live in the adjacent district, the 14th where (0+ / 0-)

we have a real back bencher named Hultgren.  Walsh was to take on Hultgren in the primary, but (rumor has it) he was promised stuff if he didn't challenge Hultgren.  So he made the deal to run in the newly RE-DISTRICTED 8th which has many Democratic Party voters from Elgin, and Cook County.  The truth be known, had he been re-districted to a 52-48 GOP District, he still would have lost because he is that bad of a person/candidate.  My intention in commenting was more or less"we've got more important fish to fry"

    •  the wife's income is not really pertinent (0+ / 0-)

Which, presumably, is why he doesn't pay alimony - just child support. Her income has nothing to do with the fact that he should support his children financially. Surely, the child support amount alone doesn't cover the total cost of the children and she supports them as well.

It is ludicrous that he couldn't, on a 6 figure congressional salary, continue supporting them for the few months it's been since he lost the election/his previous income and certainly he would be able to find new work and has.
