    In terms of public debate it's not crazy to say that gun murders call for action more than gun suicides, but I agree with you that gun suicides are also a problem.  When someone attempts suicide with a gun the attempt is successful 90% of the time, compared to much lower percentages for other methods.  It should be good public policy to make it harder for depressed people to attempt a permanent solution for a temporary problem.  That seems like a pretty common sense public health issue.

    Notice that the NRA is busy worrying about the need to kill cops in a revolution rather than arguing a right to suicide.  It seems like both sides leave the issue alone because they aren't sure how it cuts.
