    But backed up by research as well, to the apparent dismay of many (including some here) who like to deny reality, science, etc.

      Thank you for the great link --- in my opinion, this study presents a particularly sad and disturbing finding:

        Personally I think you're right to pick that particular reference out as being disturbing to say the least. It's a reminder that the reality is far more complex than "Don't want a gun? Don't own one". The easy access to deadly weapons is clearly a societal one.

        But beware of pointing out inconvenient facts like this to the gun nuts, here and elsewhere. Because, you know, their "freedom" (fetish) is more important than your life.
