    From their perspective, it is not the state that should be defining "marriage" whether you are gay, lesbian, heterosexual or whatever.

    A libertarian would also reject "gay" rights on the grounds that individuals possess rights, not select groups of individuals.

    It's the same reason they regard "hate" crimes and affirmative action as illegitimate.

      is like telling Rosa Parks that she can sit at the front of the bus.......but only after the government stops providing bus service.

      He's the kind of southern "libertarian" who opposes the Incorporation Doctrine, and thinks the states should be free to be theocracies and infringe the basic civil rights of women, racial minorities and gays.    He doesn't seem to understand that civil rights trump states rights.
