    and i'm pretty sure he has to pay capital gains on his 70%.

    it's really not that big of a settlement, imo.  not when you consider that the  koch bros. who are probably backing that little shit,make at least 100k in interest every 15 minutes.

      include fees and costs.  I'm not sure how capital gains figures in to it but most likely he will pay taxes on a portion of the settlement.  The size of the settlement is indicative of either the weakness of the case and or the small amount of damages.  Almost on the verge of paying it as a nuisance.  Cheaper to pay 100k then spend more in trial and appeals.
