  •  OHHHH That is too cool!!! New format! Love it. (14+ / 0-)

Just got done watching ARGO on the DirecTV machine. Yeah, quit laughing. It is rarely that we watch movies. And hell, $5.99! The hubbie and I both enjoyed it. Now I need to read what the hell the reality was. Being 19 at the time it all went down - as hubbie said, I was pretty busy!!!

if a habitat is flooded, the improvement for target fishes increases by an infinite percentage...because a habitat suitability index that is even a tiny fraction of 1 is still infinitely higher than zero, which is the suitability of dry land to fishes.

    •  Thanks, mrsgoo... (8+ / 0-)

What did you think of "Argo"?

IMO, it was far and away the best movie of the year... well deserving of all the awards it won (and some awards it didn't).

      •  Loved it! And even looking at it through the (6+ / 0-)

"artistic license" angle - If you remove the drama of the getting on the plane and the bazaar scenes - If you just get down to 6 people hanging out and being told - here is your new identity - have it down - 'coz you gotta bullshit your way outta the country - is azz puckering enough. Like hubbie said - I bet they were good studies. The alternative really sucked. I read the Canadian Caper page on wiki. That was some pretty professional grade bullshit that worked. Good on 'em all!!! A little piece of me wants to believe that the Iranians were "that close" and watched that plane fly away!

Lincoln should have won best picture IMHO.

Thanks Trix. I love how you always find a way to make Sunday Talk fresh, not an easy thing to do week after week. You da best!

        •  60 minutes interviewed (0+ / 0-)

the agent that this is about.  I believe he was used as a consultant when the movie was being made.  It was a fascinating interview.  He said all that stuff about the identities as the movie crew was exactly what went down.

    •  We just watched it too. (0+ / 0-)

I couldn't remember hearing much about the hostages, and I vaguely remembered hearing about the ones that escaped.

then I remembered the year, and we weren't here, we were stationed in England then. Hadn't been there that long, and I was much more concerned with getting settled than the news.

I have different memories of watergate and the Iranian hostage crisis, because we were living outside the country then.
