    We cannot withstand a Sandy every year or six months.

    Crop failure, fishery collapse, drought and wildfires.  A dozen years or so ago there was an article which described conditions under continued climate change.  One of the phrases I remember is "Texas, New Mexico and Arizona on fire."  

    In 2011, millions of acres burned in Texas killing hundreds of millions of trees.

    47.3% of all acreage burned in the United States in 2011 was burned in Texas.  27,976 fires had burned 3,959,040 acres = double the previous record.  Over 300 million trees.

    Think of that: Can we survive records which double?  The loss of hundreds of millions of trees? Over and over again? The climate is changing the face of the planet and moving much more rapidly than any models have predicted.

    Time is short for a massive effort. None is in sight.
