maryyabein, and Utah, like parts of Airyzony, is rather replete with uranium deposits, including in this part of Utah. Already, the 'yellow cake' hounds are hot and back on the trail digging up the stuff, even close to Grand Canyon National Park, which the NPS assured folks a long time ago that sort of thing wouldn't happen. Well, it is. It happened in places like Tuba City, Arizona many years ago, and ask the Navajos what they think of a quick fix to an economy that ruined many lives. The uranium boom that began in post WW II, mainly to fuel the Manhattan Project (among similar others) has never completely died off as some folks once thought. Why do you think the likes of SUWA and similar other preservation groups are wanting to thwart such exploration in places, like the Swell? Anyway, there are numerous reports on the Web where sites are either being actually pursued, as in mining, or on the slate for potential mining. There are also a handful of groups fighting same. Hope you'll pitch and join the battle. This effort needs all the help it can get to dissuade such mining interests. Thanks for posting your comment.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
