Do not dismiss this article out of hand. Currently AA issues are being put on the backburner for a reason. Would white Dems advocate for these issues to take front and center? I'm leaning towards no despite the vital importance of the AA vote.

I have seen silicon valley folks (a liberal area) pretend they live in a post racial, merit based part of the economy while there are no blacks in these companies, no black startups, no VC's investing into the few blacks that do try, all the while living in areas that have been gentrified to remove blacks from where they live. It's not that much better for other parts of Obama's coalition there either. Good luck if you don't partner with a white male.

Sooner or later minorities are going to demand issues of inequality and access get addressed and I personally think that may keep the GOP alive. From my observations, to many think (especially the GOP) this is a zero sum game, when in actuality, we can, and should prosper together. Trust me that countries like China are literally laughing at the US for practically giving up on their world hegemony status. This country could be so great but refuses to be.

I mean, Latinos have other issues besides the immigration issue (race issues are not simply black issues, that's become a pet peeve of mine).

I think that there are all sorts of alignments that could happen in the future.
