We dont have a copy of how many commuters were interviewed, what the questions were on the survey, what the meta-analysis of the surrvey showed, etc.  An editorial isn't the best place to publish this, but he coud have at least left a link to a blog page that had his analysis.    Speaking Spanish doesnt alarm me as someone who rides the T.  Being aggressive, yelling, or acting intoxicating in a public place does alarm me and let me tell you, I have been in some scarey situations on the T from folks like that.... and they were white and spoke English. And the result was I felt we need to do more to fund mental health or social services to those in distress.

The experiment report runs 38 pages with description, references, graphs and is available on this page at the author's site, which includes other studies of some interest. One:

Granted unprecedented access to Democratic campaign workers, Eitan Hersh and I unveil initial findings of the Ground Campaign Project (GCP), a research endeavor done in conjunction with Obama for America, NGP-VAN, and twenty-five state Democratic parties. The result of the partnership is a longitudinal study in which we interviewed nearly 4,000 campaign staffers, interns, and volunteers during the final six months of the 2012 campaign.
