  •  you've not answered the question: (0+ / 0-)
"Most here are bashing something that offers a way to escape a likely unpleasant possibility, even probability, of increased diversity in some areas."
was this "study" peer reviewed? if so, then the conclusions would seem to be based on standard methodology. if not, then the entire "study" itself boils down to one person's opinion.
    •  You too obviously did not read the paper or look (1+ / 0-)

at the context of social research at Harvard. Again, we seem to have a confusion on your part of the difference between an experiment and "opinion" as the experiment was supported by "Malcolmb Weiner Center for Social Policy at Harvard University and the Behavioral Laboratory in Social Sciences at Harvard University." Footnote 4 of the report notes:

Before beginning the experiment, the design was reviewed and approved by the relevant Institutional Review Board.
This a bit more than some guy's opinion.

The paper is undergoing review as usual with such studies as you would see if you looked at the researcher's CV page. For similar research elsewhere see "The More the Merrier? The Effects of Type of Cultural Diversity on Exclusionary Immigration Attitudes in Switzerland" in the International Journal of Conflict and Violence where you may find this study is something of a follow on in a long series of such experiments.

I'll leave it up to the critics here to actually do some work themselves and check into the background of the research, not the Washington Post piece. Knee jerk discounting as seen here may aid in misleading Democrats and allies on this site into thinking demographic change by itself, without some work on our part, will just take care of the TP/GOP's reactionary views. There is research, particularly in Europe, indicating reaction to "demographics" that may at the least prolong the reactionary parties' survival.
