but I don't think realistically such action has a chance in hell of passing. Who are the sponsors/co-sponsors? Strikes me as a potential poison pill legislation to get liberals on the record, from which to gather the basis for challenging their patriotism later on.

upon re-reading the diary I see there's no basis to suspect ulterior motive. Still, I don't see it likely passing, not that it shouldn't be moved forward.

And if not today, then there are following days. A lot of good things we have now didn't look like they had a chance, ever. Persistence is the key.

Main thing: repeal has to rise to the top of the American citizens' agenda. And note that the rank-and-file right wing (not the Big Money right) is as unhappy with these wars and perversion of the Constitution as we are. There's a broad base out there if it can be focused.

If Republicans said every 3rd person named "Smith" should hang, we'd bargain them to every 7th. Then we'll see apologia written praising this most pragmatic compromise. There's our losing formula.

        Linky.

I like to know what I'm supporting - or not - before I sign anything, especially these time-wasting petitions.

I copied and pasted the entire bill as written on the THOMAS site.  It's short and to the point, so I decided to support it and I'm contacting my Rep to ask him to be a co-sponsor.
