Has this event made any change in your brother's feelings about having guns in the home? Or has he just resolved to be more careful with them?

spoken to my brother about this (I spoke to his wife) I can tell you that he has an enormous gun safe, and that all the guns are locked up safely, along with ammunition. He has a personal handgun that he does keep loaded and either on his person, locked in his bedroom where the kids cannot get it, or locked in the car. I am positive that he is exceptionally careful with his handgun. I think he made a mistake this weekend while camping.

I think the point is that if you've got them there, it is human nature that sometime you will make a mistake. You can certainly take precautions and maybe reduce the odds, but the possibility is always there. I sure hope everything goes well for him and his family. But the chances would be better if he didn't have the guns.

    •  Wonder how the children feel about this. n/t (0+ / 0-)
