that he's guilty.  You should notify the eff bee eye right away.

So you have proof that he was suicidal?  And how exactly do you think they treat suicidal patients in psychiatry wards?

    •  He admitted guilt, he took credit (0+ / 0-)

for what he did.  All I'm saying is treat him like someone heroic and willing to pay the price, or as a woefully misunderstood person who needs some help with gender identity issues and problems with bucking authoritarian institutions.  If he was lashing out at the way he was treated, he's not a whistle-blower with a patriotic agenda.  If he's a patriot who wants transparency in foreign policy he made a choice knowing the price would be high.  I'm not sure how he can be heroic and pathetic victim at the same time.  Honor his sacrifice if you believe he's a hero.  It's particularly courageous as he's a soldier, knowing the consequences, knowing that brigs are hellholes and choosing to do what you believe is right.

If I appear confused you'll have to blame it on the info I get here.  From outside sources it appears he had a mad on and wanted revenge.  From his family, he's a troubled young man.  From here, some weeks he's a courageous whistle-blower, some weeks a broken victim of a macho culture.  Maybe he's just a confused kid who made some bad choices and is paying a high price.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
