  •  200,000 years is still less than a blink of an eye (16+ / 0-)

in the long story of life on Earth. Yet look at us; the power of our language, intelligence and ability to harness energies outside our own metabolisms has allowed us to inhabit every continent and every biome, from sea level to the Himalayas. It's all rather astonishing.

But the time has come for us to stop acting like rude guests on this planet, and learn to get along with the rest of our ecological "family".

We can start by weaning ourselves off of fossil fuels, and limiting ourselves to two offspring per couple.

I think the greater lesson of archeo-genetics is that our so-called "racial differences" are statistically insignificant. We should take delight in our superficial variations and diverse cultures, but know that as a species, there are no "others" to be feared.

    Have you noticed?
