    family name--we found a relative in Canada who had been adopted, but we still don't know exactly where he fits into the family tree.

      with I think six different individuals and we have worked out the connections for two of them. It's not easy. It takes a lot of research in most cases. The DNA just points you in the right direction. After that it requires lots of time on Ancestry.com or similar sites to determine the exact connection.

      One of the cool things about the DNA testing and matching process is that you can connect with people some of whom are very experienced doing the kind of research that's needed to pin down the connection.

      The only trouble with retirement is...I never get a day off!
