the ongoing leaks from the wreakage...and the Taylor well has been leaking for years. These are not seeps. And again, corexit being used, adding further damage:

into the Gulf naturally every year:
Twice an Exxon Valdez spill worth of oil seeps into the Gulf of Mexico every year

Plus those extracting it have always spilled some . .. . (as they do whereever they operate - e.g., in the North Sea, off Newfoundland, etc).

as our nation's toilet - see this New York Times article (or any similar information that is easy to find on the internet).

As the article points out, the plight is incredibly deeper than  BP's spill  - why not acknowledge everything?

Seems to that the first step towards recovery is to figure out what is wrong  - and what can be fixed (the shit we pour in) and what can't be so easily (naturally occurring pollution).

And I don't get how I'm downplaying anything - the quote you gave from me from early on flat out acknowledges the ongoing pollution from oil extraction.  For example, it kills hundreds of thousands of birds in the North Sea, off Newfoundland, and in the Gulf (and probably elsewhere, but they're not counting).
