    India is likely to surpass China in population by 2025.  And if Bangadesh, Indonesia, and PAkistan develop, that's close to 33% of the world's population in one region, going through the filthiest and most carbon intense parts of economic development.

      grid parity in India.  "Grid parity" means that the total cost of (in this case) solar is equal to the total cost of whatever mix of fuels is supplying the electrical grid.  

      Since coal in India is getting more expensive AND Indian citizens are objecting to the pollution and land destruction caused by coal mining and burning, I suspect that India will be switching over to mostly renewables for electrical power sooner rather than later.  There's no reason why Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh can't also change to newly-economical renewables.

      Of course, there's a lot of people in India who aren't on the grid because running power lines to their villages is too expensive.  For them, it's solar power or no power.  Increasingly, it's solar.  

      Renewable energy brings national global security.
