    My poor deprived offspring got micro doses of shows like Electric Company, Sesame Street, Little House on the Prairie....when we actually owned a telly.

    And they grew up to become world champion middle age TV watchers.  I have one who will not miss Family Guy or South Park

    Heh, & I've gotten hooked on a few shows & I mean "tivo -plan my schedule around" hooked.  Currently, "my" shows are The Walking Dead & The Network (which has been on hiatus).

    Have watched & enjoyed some Game of Thrones, Grimm & Big Bang Theory with family... only because I happened to walk by & something piqued my interest.

     Lol, I am so used to not watching TV that I forget about shows I'd probably like or follow.  So much so that when I was glued to the telly during 9/11, Katrina & elections, that my family became very alarmed.

    I agree with the diarist that there are many more options today that offer quality (aside from the "news")
