    .. in consecrated ground because she was stillborn, and thus had no soul in need of consecration. At the time, the belief was that the soul entered the body with the first breath - literal inspiration.

    My father's uncle was a Monseigneur. He made an appeal directly to the Pope, who said, "no."

    They eventually found a priest who would bury her, but it cost them 6 plots in the part of the cemetery between the railroad tracks and the highway.
