The reason academia is about to perish (I give this system 15 years, max) is because there is no reason to pay someone four thousand dollars to teach you what you can learn online for three hundred dollars; their contempt for you just doesn't make up the difference.
I gather that you're angry -- perhaps justifiably -- about a lot of things, but if this is representative of your analytical work, well.... of the many reasons why academia as it's constituted today -- and as it's being attacked today at every level -- will look very different in 15 years, online autodidacts don't make the top 20.

Let's just say that your open contempt for researchers and professors (who was it that did the research that magically ended up online? No need for training or critique from experts, just go read what already exists!) would win you lots of friends over at CPAC. In a research institution? Not so much.

a great many people aiming for a higher degree feel persecuted at one point or another. The only reason to attempt a research degree is to equip yourself sufficiently to defend your hypothesis that even an asshole will agree that you've made your point.
I think the diarist has other issues relating to his/ her disability, which cause problems in doing the research to start with.

...and especially blind peer review of research, because it's one of those rare spheres of life where one has to concede that being an asshole -- or being a really great person -- has very little to do with the validity of investigative methods, logical coherence, and robust argumentation.
