  •  My wife is an unemployed scientist (8+ / 0-)

with virtually no prospects. I managed to make more in the public sector as a social worker, but of course everything I have is under attack by Christie and the Christiecrats in Trenton, and I am made to feel that i am a leech on the public, instead of one who provides badly needed services. i do envy you tech people, because if I ever had to do tech for a living I would slit my wrists. i find it boring as hell, and I zone out once I hear  words like pixles and bytes. What we are seeing here is that there is no security for even the highest performers with all the righ credentials; what chance, then, for the high school grad? the dropout? the English major? There are not enough good jobs out there for people who need them; those of us who have good jobs are under constant fear and pressure, and if we don't like it, there's the door. This is a sick society; almost evil, or perhaps already there. We are like the survivors in the Walking Dead, killing each other off over the remnants of civilization.
