I don't think this is just a messaging problem.

What I think it is is that there are, in fact, good Democrats like Sherrod Brown, Elizabeth Warren, Keith Ellison and others and then there are establishment Democrats who look at politics like the Democrats are the Red Sox and the Republicans are the Yankees and you do what you are told, even if it's fucking stupid and you know so, because you are on a team.

I don't think this is just about messaging.

I am trying to recognise that not every Democrat is a drone or a piece of shit, but that they will all go down together in the shitfall.

and more clear when I type angry. I admit that. My bad.

I'm somebody who is caught in a bind.

I'm angry. Like, shaking angry. Over Chained CPI and how stupid this all is.

The cataclysmic crack-up of the only alternative in a two-party system is staring us right in the face. The next ten years will be harder than hell post shitfall. And the most powerful people in the party are chasing it like it's free sex or candy.

A huge chunk of the Democratic Party is self-defeating.

Sadly. The most effective and dynamic part is the one getting cast as out-of-step and unserious.

That demographic advantage is a mirage if the Democrats have no brand. I'm trying not to end up where we all have to start over from scratch hip deep in ash and fail.

      I don't know if it's possible.

But we have to start by admitting our system is irretrievably broken and that the scolds around here are meaningless bread and circuses just like the coordinated media lies. The Democratic Party has been compromised irreversibly when the head of the party advocates that we start dismantling the goddamn New Deal.

Those who would scold me for hyperbole can kiss my ass. I no longer care what they think. It is time to do more than pay this lip service and argue endlessly with apologists put here to keep the charade ginning along. The Media Lies have to be stopped by any means necessary.

there ARE good Dems. But there aren't enough of them. And until there are, we have to do more than what we're doing now.

To keep what you propose from happening--that they all go down together in the shitfall, and you are so absolutely right--we need to do more than "GOTV" and write LTEs and get involved in the compromised System. We need to start by occupying Media, so that their lies don't take hold.

We simply cannot give ANY OF THEM anything to hide behind. They can hide behind the "Lucy and the Football" motif. They can even hide behind their team. And they do both of those things via Messenger. That messenger has to be neutralized, and that has to start today.

I passionately believe, with all my heart, that we are spinning our wheels until we do something to stop all these coordinated lies.

It is time to #Occupy Media.

        I'm with you.

I'm expecting this to be one of the ugliest fights in modern Democratic Party history once it gets engaged, and I'm not sure we are going to win.

But we have to fight like losing isn't an option.

        Because it's not.

Once Social Security is in play, everything is. And once it's on the table, always on the table, nothing will ever be 'off the table'.
