  •  Marriage equality moves forward in Michigan (5+ / 0-) ...

"Friday will be a historic day for the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians in Michigan.

The tribe's same-sex marriage law will be signed into law by Chairman Dexter McNamara. He will then preside over the first same-sex wedding on the reservation between two of his friends -- Tim LaCroix, a 53-year-old tribal member, and partner, Gene Barfield, the 60-year-old former president of the Gay, Lesbian & Bisexual Veterans of America.

The tribe's defines marriage as a union between 'two persons.' At least one person must be a tribal member."
