  •  true enough but it seems like we made one (4+ / 0-)

leap and have been stuck ever since.

what's happened for women really since then? not much really. We go to college now. There's that. But there's not many other areas where you see progress, IMO. I mean, hell, we're arguing about birth control for pert's sake, in 2012/13. And whether a barely conscious woman can or cannot give consent to sex.

I feel like there were these major leaps between, say 1962 and 19-say, 80. Then it was like. That's it. Enough. Bye Bye. And now we're fighting just to keep the gains from 30 years ago. WTF.

      You're right.
We thought (mistakenly) that since we had made leaps and bounds in many areas that our progress would continue and many of us became less vigilant.
We didn't realize (or forgot) the deep seated hostility for, and the need for control over, us.
The assault against women as a segment of this society by certain politicos and by extremist elements, as well as the intrusion into our medical/reproductive lives has awakened a lot of us who had been lulled into thinking we were proceeding well.
We need to remember and stay aware.
      And keep going.

I think, therefore I am........................... Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose....AKA Engine Nighthawk - don't even ask!
