Sorry to go off topic but,

BUDGET VOTE-A-RAMA is about to start in the Senate.

500 amendments in less than 12 hours (hopefully less than 12).

I got my popcorn ready!  This great entertainment for Congressional Geeks like me (and you?).

Anyway, there were a couple of good votes last night when we were treated to an appetizer I guess.

First at least 4 Republicans in the Senate voted against an amendment to substitute the Ryan Budget.  That's going to be a big asset when we get down to Senate & House Budget negotiations.

Second, what can be called a Democrat derived "Poison Pill" amendment just played out beautifully on the Senate Floor last night.  The amendment was one which said that Medicare guaranteed benefits could not be cut and replaced by the voucher system proposed in the Ryan Budget.

Get this, the amendment passed by a vote of 96 to 3!

When faced by the clear stark choice between guaranteed benefits and a voucher system the Republicans caved on mass.

It was a beautiful vote to watch.

Hoping for some more such entertaining votes today/tonight!

      Seriously, thank you!

      That's great news.
