Spoze I needed a place to live and commandeered your living room (cuz I had lived in your house once upon a time).  You let me do that, cuz you're a live and let live sort of person.  You're not really happy about it, but you figure you can deal and you know I need a place to sleep.

Then, rather than being a thankful and cooperative housemate, I just act like a total asshole, treating you without any semblance of respect, annexing your bathroom and kitchen and not letting you have any say in what goes on with them, even throwing out your food and utensils and replacing them with my own.  You complain and I ignore you or beat you up.  And I have friends with more money than you have so I can just push you around whenever I feel like it.  I hate loudly on all the neighbors and make the whole block into a warzone.

What would think of the people who supported me in doing all that?

I made clear that the Israelis' hands are not clean.  So what is the answer?

Israelis (and I know a bunch of warm and wonderful people who live there) as a whole have to decide what kind of a society they want to be.  If they want to go on with their version of apartheid they can keep electing thugs to "lead" them.  As long as they keep doing that, they get no respect from folks like me.  As long as they're willing to base their survival on their capacity to kill as opposed to their capacity to get along with their neighbors, they are a thug state.

A time will come when the US is no longer the only superpower.  If Israelis can't make peace among their neighbors by then they will probably disappear from the map.  I don't think that has to happen (it would be a shame if it did), but if they continue to elect brutal governments I'd be surprised if it didn't.
