  •  Been Watching Maduro For Last Six Years. (11+ / 0-)

I am very impressed by him.  He is a very competent guy who seems to get along very well with folks inside and outside of Venezuela.

Maduro has a temperate temperament.  He has been more emotionally expressive since President Chavez died, which is understandable since he worked closely with Chavez starting with the failure of Chavez led military rebellion in 1992.  They were very close both politically and personally.  Chavez's death was a terrible personal loss to Maduro, but he managed to hold himself together throughout the long funeral services and manage the ceremonies.

Maduro virtually never left the side of Chavez's casket during the 7 hour procession from the Military Hospital to the Military Academy where the funeral services took place.  Then, at the ceremony, he gave a great speech, without consulting a single note.  This is one sensitive but very emotionally stable guy.

Maduro is married to Cilia Flores, an important figure in her right.  She was the lawyer who got President Chavez pardoned after he spent two years in jail for his abortive uprising.  Since then she has served as an elected member of the National Assembly, then as Speaker of the Assembly (the first woman to do so), and then as Procuraduria General, one of the top Constitutional offices.  Her powers are more extensive than our own Attorney General.

Convict Bush, Cheney and their torture cabal. Support universal health care, unions, WikiLeaks and Occupy Wall Street! Time for a totally new, democratic economic system. Turn the corporations into worker cooperatives!
