The right wings in Ecuador and Bolivia tried very hard -- with U.S. assistance -- to bring down those nascent socialist governments, but the countries of South American came together through UNASUR and stopped them.

Even Colombia's Uribe and Santos were forced to back track, even to apologize, for their attack on Ecuador.  This demonstrates how very important the united voice of Latin America (and other places in the world potentially) can be.

Look at Cuba as well.  The U.S. has tried to destroy them for years, but increasingly, due to the unity of Latin American countries, the U.S. looks ony ridiculous.  That is one of the reasons that President Raul Castro's selection to chair the CELAC group is so important.  That means that at huge swath of South and Central American countries-- at least 33 countries -- are flat-out ignoring the demands of the U.S. to sanction Cuba.  Even there former best friend, Colombia, has joined the other side.

Convict Bush, Cheney and their torture cabal. Support universal health care, unions, WikiLeaks and Occupy Wall Street! Time for a totally new, democratic economic system. Turn the corporations into worker cooperatives!
